We have had more phone calls for help since our last letter.

One call came from XX who had a lot of nausea and pain. When I answered the call, the voice, in desperation with tears, was asking that we pray for a miracle. I called a prayer warrior with this request.

By the way, there may be a few of you that are wondering how you might be a part of a ministry. We at The Unchanging Word need more prayer warriors. We can never have too many. If God lays it on your heart to minister in this way, please call or write. Again I say that we NEED more to come forward and say that they are willing to serve our LORD in this way.

We have received a request from a man in prison and he would like to be in a listening area for The Unchanging Word. I am doing some ground work so that the Board will have something to consider. There is a radio station near the prison and the station might have a time slot at little or no cost. Pray with us that God will work out the details and then the board can decide the direction we should take.

Gloria received a phone call from a lady that seemed to want to harass someone from The Unchanging Word. She wanted to talk to Dr. Mitchell. When Gloria explained that he had gone home to be with the LORD, she appeared to be upset and informed Gloria that it is illegal to broadcast someone that is dead. She seemed to only want to harass us here at The Unchanging Word.

Pray for this lady. Nothing is too difficult for God. Perhaps He will give her opportunity to meet Him in a wonderful way. I am more concerned about people that don’t seem to care. Those that get upset usually are more reachable than those that just don’t have any concern at all.

I received a call from a listener that had attended Multnomah. He is a rapper. He is 72 years old and sent me the following ditty. You have to memorize it and read it very fast to get the rapper capability

 If (you) we’ve got a catch…

in our get up and go…

We have to let ourselves know…

Or it will begin to show,.,

Cause after while we’ll lose our smile

And when we frown

Our (Lord’s) business will be down.

If we begin to slouch

And become an old (young) grouch…

We go to the couch…

But we don’t stay down for the count…

We quickly arise and mount…

Cause we only win…

When we begin to grin!

We take out the whine

And put back the shine

On bended knee

We begin to see

An open Bible and prayer

In the air

We get up from our chair.

And God’s business is strong

Helping the fears to be gone!

From this I am reminded that we are never too old to be about fulfilling God’s purpose for our lives. You that are getting older, don’t quit. Dr. Mitchell was 97 and doing well until just a few short weeks before going home.

Now about the rapper. I have never had a phone conversation with someone that could talk in rhyme. I was blessed by our conversation. I believe God gave him the ability and wants him to use it to glorify our LORD.

The programs continue and now we have improved music provided by The Salem Singers. We thank them for the extra time and effort in making the program better.

Enclosed also is a list of how to hear The Unchanging Word on the internet. It comes courtesy of Kieth Moritz. Thank you Kieth.

Enjoy…God’s love for you; God’s provision for you; and most of all, Christ’s sacrifice for you.

Because of God’s love,

Ernie/Gloria Ediger and President Fran Davey

Great Response from Listeners

More calls are coming in from Spokane, Moses Lake, Yakima, The Tri Cities, and we have had calls from Portland, Or. and Firebaugh, CA.

Now for a couple of letters received.

Out of Deer Park, Washington…

“The program is wonderful. Enjoyed so much this a.m.’s lesson-pure Bible.”

Out of the Portland, Oregon area…

…”Each time I hear the radio program on KKPZ my memories as a student at Multnomah are renewed, and I thank our Heavenly Father for all of you. I also relate to your service given… The thirty plus years have proven to me, God’s recompense far exceeds all that man can give.

Even now at age 89, our Heavenly Father provides strength and provision for two weekly prayer-study groups, one in my home and one in Western Seminary. His promises never fail. May He shield and direct each of you. Proverbs 3:5-6″

Another Message left from a listener…..

He asked that we pray for him because he has a drinking problem.
People are hearing the program for the first time and God is using the Bible teaching to touch lives. Thank you for your rayers and support.

March 8, 2012

We share once again, that God has been faithful in the ministry of The Unchanging Word. As mentioned in past letters, we are now on eleven stations, three of which are secular and are reaching a number of non-churched listeners.

A few weeks ago we began broadcasting on the American Christian Network which is based in Spokane, Washington. Initially we were on twice a week and it took only five or six weeks before people were calling the network asking why Dr. Mitchell wasn’t on more often. The owners asked if we would increase our programming to Monday through Friday broadcasts. The board agreed and we are now on four of their stations at 11:00am each morning, Monday through Friday.

We have had more letters and notes from these four stations in the past few months than we have received from all the other stations put together. Is God working? I must give an astounding YES. Are we where we should be? I believe we are.

Letter and phone calls include those from addicts that are asking God to remove their addictions. They include comments like “It is wonderful to hear truth!” They include calls from individuals with health problems like MS, who are requesting prayer for their healing.

What I am about to say may be the most important part of this letter. I would suggest you read this paragraph ten times and then see how God can use you in helping as you pray.

We have 180+ on our mailing list. If each of you would pray for those who are listening to The Unchanging Word, and have special needs, I believe we might see answered prayer for a very needy people. God knows what the need is of each person. Pray that “God will fulfill His purpose as He helps each individual.

Remember Hezekiah? He took a scroll with prayer requests and laid them out before the Lord. I ask that you, please pray for the needs of these people even though you don’t know specifically what those needs are. GOD KNOWS. You might even want to lay this letter before the Lord and ask Him to accomplish His will in the lives of all that have called or written with specific requests.

Now another matter that is on my heart. The ACN (American Christian Network) said that they will review our charges for this broadcast time, in June. I suspect that they will want to raise the radio time costs rather significantly because we are on a very low rate for the time and audience that they are giving us. We will then need to make decisions as to whether God wants us to stay on these stations. God answers prayer often by supplying or withholding funds. It is all in His hands. Pray that we will be wise and receptive to God’s Will in these matters.

Now another thought. In order to bring the daily broadcasts to a common level, that is, that all daily broadcasts are on the same lesson, we are broadcasting a short study by Dr. Mitchell on the Walk of Faith. This is on all daily broadcast stations other than CAN. It is made up of 15 lessons on five audio CDs. I don’t know about anyone else, but it has been a tremendous blessing to me. If deals a lot with the life of Abraham. He was told to go and he went willingly.

Abraham is also referred to as a friend of God. Dr. Mitchell asks his listeners, if they are believers in Christ, “Is God your friend?” What a wonderful thought, and an important thought for those living and walking with Christ.

As Dr. Mitchell usually does, he outlines the different kinds of faith.

Following are a list of eight items referring to faith.
The fervency of faith
The sufficiency of faith
The humility of faith
The courage and dignity of faith
The reward of faith
The patience of faith
The sample of faith
The energy of faith

This series is extremely rich. I would encourage you to get this series for yourself, or for your church’s library. If you are interested, call us at 1-877-623-8700 or write us at The Unchanging Word, PO Box 398, Dallas, Oregon, 97338.

Now be sure and call or write. We would be happy to take your prayer requests, thoughts, or suggestions.

Because of God’s great love,

Ernie/Gloria Ediger and Fran Davey, President

DOCTRINAL STATEMENT

THE UNCHANGING WORD                DOCTRINAL STATEMENT

WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT THE SCRIPTURES

We believe in the complete, absolute, unqualified, verbal inspiration of both the Old and New Testaments. We believe that the Holy Spirit inspired the thoughts of the writers, including the very words that they used. We believe that the original writings were without error regarding the facts and truth. I Corinthians 2:13; II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21

WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT GOD

We believe that there is one God. That God exists in three persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We believe that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, are equal in power and have the same attributes. Matthew 28:18-20; II Corinthians 13:14

WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT THE CREATION AND FALL OF MAN

We believe that God created man in His own likeness and image. We believe that Adam sinned and that this separated him from God. We believe that everyone born since Adam has this sin nature and is deserving of death and eternal separation from God. Genesis 1:25-27; Romans 3:23; 5:12-21

WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT JESUS CHRIST

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. We believe that He became man and at the same time He never stopped being God. We believe that He was born of a virgin (Mary) after being conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe that He came to earth so that He would be the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all mankind. We believe that He accomplished His purpose by dying on the cross as a substitute for mankind. We believe that this redemptive sacrifice was made complete by His resurrection. John 1:1-2; John 8-58; Luke 1:35; Romans 3:24-25; I Peter 3:1-5

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is now in heaven, seated at the right hand of God. We believe that He is the Intercessor, and Advocate, for those that have put their faith and trust in Him. Hebrews 7:25; 9:24; Romans 8:34; I John 2:1-2

We believe in the premillenial return of our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that He will establish His kingdom and will reign upon the earth at that time. Zechariah 14:4-11; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:6

WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. We believe that the Holy Spirit is God. We believe that the Holy Spirit is on earth today and indwells everyone that has put their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit baptizes all believers into the Body of Christ and seals them unto the day of redemption. We believe that every believer is commanded to be filled with Holy Spirit.

We believe there is a difference between baptism and filling. When one accepts Christ as their personal Savior, he/she is baptized into the Body of Christ. This is not a choice. We believe that when we are filled with the Spirit, this is a choice we make and one that God has commanded us to do. It is something that is ongoing and continuous. It is progressive. Romans 8:9; I Corinthians 12:12-13; Ephesians 1:13-14; 5:18-20

WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT SALVATION

We believe that God gave man a gift. This gift was the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that everyone that puts their personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is saved eternally. We believe that others will see this faith through the works that the believer does, works that are pleasing to God.

We believe that true believers who accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior will be kept saved forever. John 10:27-30; Romans 8:38-39; Ephesians 2:8-10; Philippians 1:6; II Timothy 1:12; Titus 2:11-14

WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT THE CHURCH

We believe that the Church is the Body of Christ. It is made up of all those who have accepted and put their faith in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. This is irrespective of their affiliation with any Christian organization. Ephesians 1:22-23; I Corinthians 12:12-14

WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT THE FINAL STATE

We believe that God has given mankind a choice. It is this choice that determines his final state. This choice can only be made while alive. There is no second chance after death. If man chooses by faith to accept Christ as his personal Savior, he will forever be with the Lord in heaven. If man chooses not to accept Christ as his personal Savior, he will be forever separated from God in hell.

We believe that all will be conscious in either case, and that this state will be forever, and without end. Mark 9:43-48; Revelation 20:15; 22:3-5

We believe that this teaches us of the kind of life we are to live and the kind of Gospel (Good News) we are to share with others. Matthew 5:14-16; 28:18- 20
